Well, I'm 13 and my parents give me $ 20 until that's gone to buy the school lunch. But sometimes if I don't like what the cafeteria is serving I'll buy milk and snacks. But packing I a good idea to.

My child gets milk from school, a sandwich (PB&J or egg salad, ham, turkey, etc...), a few chips (a billion varieties to choose from), a piece of fruit and maybe a small treat like a two or three Hershey Kisses.

Our school had a list of "okay" items to bring into school, and other things aren't allowed so you may want to check to see your school has a similar list. Easy cheap lunches you can do for that price would be a loaf of bread, lunch meat or PB and J, in season fruit or apples are always on sale, carrots sticks with hummus or peanut butter...with ten dollars only theres not too many obvious options, but it is do-able. Throw some leftovers from the night before in there some days to give you more money on other days.

I have a mylunchmoney.com account and I keep it funded so that my son can get what ever he wants for school. When he wants to bring his lunch I usually give him a sandwich a bag a chips and a bag of cookies and apple juice

well depends on age..

my 12 yr old has been packing her own lunches for school this yr.
she gets a sandwich (her choice of deli sliced meats)
juice, water, snacks are usually a pudding/yogurt/minigo/applesauce, snack pack of cookies, scooby doo/sponge bob snacks, apple/banana/orange,

we have a variety of snacks to choose from, so every day is different in her lunch....i suppose once she reaches high school, the lunch thing will change....we'll deal with that when it comes.
