What breakfast foods are healthy and filling?

Question by Sonya: What breakfast foods are healthy and filling?
I usually skip breakfast in the morning on my way to work and then I stop at Starbucks. This would be fine except for the fact that a pastry is not very filling and it causes me to overeat at lunch. Can you give me any ideas for a few different breakfast items that are healthier than a pastry and will keep me filled up until lunch?

try oatmeal. or even a slim-fast shake if you want to sip on something to work. they have a lot of protein that keeps you feeling fuller longer. also lots of vitamins and minerals that are important too!

fruit salad with your favorite fruits add cottage cheese, natural honey and some type of nuts like sunflower almonds etc. Or if you are on the rush have some bananas with a glass of milk and honey wheat crackers.

oatmeal always hits the spot for me, although I generally only eat it during the cold months

lately though i’ve been eating cereal (grape nuts trail mix crunch) – it’s got almonds and raisins – it’s full of fiber and it’s rather healthy and filling

Hiya hon :o ) xx I agree with Almost21 above me – oatmeal is a nice, filling and healthy breakfast. I like some nice scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast with a glass of fruit juice too – that is quite filling and usually keeps me going until lunchtime!! If you do get hungry inbetween (and we all do!!) snack on some fruit until lunchtime to keep your energy up! xx Hope this helps xxx

A bowl of oat meal cooked in soyabean milk (without sugar) and mixed with some fresh fruit like banana, blue berry, strawberry, kiwi, pineapple, papaya (at least two of them) 0 altogether at least 8 to 12 oz.!

Buy the cereal bars, expecially the ones with “oats”. Anything “cheerios” or “oatmeal” is very filling. The problem with grabbing them off the shelf in a cookie or bar form is they contain loads of sugar whick will leave you feeling tired in a few hours. Someone should make a cereal bowl on the go! Oatmeal, it sticks with you.
