french breakfasts are fairly simple – some leftover baguette with butter and jam, coffee, and maybe some juice.
lunches include croque monsieur sandwiches (ham & cheese dipped in egg batter and griddled), quiche and salad, and other light fare.
dinner varies – steak tartare and potatoes lyonnaise are some examples.
desserts include pastries (which the french are famous for) and fruit ices.

Breakfast – Cafe au lait (coffee w/ milk) and croissants or pain au chocolat.
Lunch – a ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette.
Dinner – roast chicken or a whole fish with vegetables.
Dessert – cheese course (actually b/w dinner and the dessert), clafoutis (one of my favorites), mousse, crepes, creme brulee.
