I guess you mean Rockefeller Center Hotel on 51st St?

Here are a few inexpensive places to try - down and dirty inexpensive ranged breakfast - not "brunch" - that are close by.

For something really quick - go to to Cafe Metro in the McGraw Hill building - 1221 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) between 48th/49th. They have oatmeal, smoothies, create your own omelets, bagels - the works...

Lou's Cafe on 6th Avenue on the corner of 52nd St. for sit down.

There's a Starbucks right there if you want baked goods and coffee - right on 6th Ave at 52nd/53rd St.

There's a Cosi on 48th between 5th & 6th Ave (nearer to 6th)

There's an Au Bon Pain on 50th between 6th & 7th Ave.

There's Dean & Deluca across from the Today Show on 49th between 5th & 6th.

Underground in Rockefeller Center - there is a Dunkin Donuts, 2 Starbucks, Cuchina & Co., as well as Burger King & McDonald's if that's your speed. Liberty Deli is good too.

Have a great time!

For something different, Crema has a great brunch on the weekends. They serve gourmet Mexican foods and their brunch is delicious. They are located in the Union Square area on 17th between 6th and 7th.

A great place is Ellen's Stardust Diner, at about 50th and Broadway. It's a great diner with a large menu. Big and clean and great food. Also always good is the Viand Diner.
There are a number of them. I can think of one of them at Madison and 61 Street. Everyone is always happy at one of the Viand's.

The best breakfast in New York is at Norma's in Le Parker Meridian Hotel on 57th Street - it's expensive!
http://www.normasnyc.com/normas.htm

I love The Brooklyn Diner on 57th and Seventh - the food's good, it's expensive, but I save money when I eat there - I have a piece of lemon meringue pie for breakfast (with coffee, of course). The slice is so big, I can't eat any lunch and, am usually not interested in a big dinner - seriously, I love their lemon meringue pie and strawberry blonde cheesecake - easily big enough for three servings.

The Applejack Diner on 55th and Broadway serves an excellent reasonably priced breakfast.

You could walk to The TimeWarner Building and get breakfast at WholeFoods - it's self service, or, in the same building, you can get excellent things at Bouchon Bakery.

ok, so it's technically not midtown, but you can get a great breakfast at 'good enough to eat' on 83rd and Amsterdam. It's casual and inexpensive, but they have all kinds of indulgent breakfast items. During the week, you should be ine, but expect a long wait on the weekends.

My other, absolutely favorite place for (weekend) brunch in Manhattan is Cafe du Soleil. Granted it's nowhere near midtown (Broadway & 104th) but it IS worth the trip. It's a cute little French place w/ a brunch to die for. I highly recommend an omellette w/ their garlic drenched french fries.
